We LIKED It!

Look what we found hanging from a dorm window!  (Jefferson to be exact.)  Michael recognized his photo instantly.

(Title is in reference to Weekend
Update from SNL.  :)

Weekend Getaway.

We headed back to our alma mater this weekend.  Josh and I figured that it was time to introduce Nicholas to one of our favorite vacationing spots.  It's funny to refer to W&M as a vacation spot, considering it felt nothing like a vacation the entire four years we were there.  (It actually felt more like a pressure cooker.)  :)  Michael and Mary Jane also joined in the fun, and humored us by staying at the indoor water park.  This post is going to take a few weeks to wrap up with the way things are going!  So! Stick around....

A Week of Firsts for Nicholas...

  1. First bball game- went to watch the boys' hero, Jacob, play ball against Josh's kids.
  2. First trip to the library to play with the awesome Bartlett girls.
  3. First time sleeping for FIVE hours straight.  Mom was SO, SO, SO happy.
  4. First trip to mom and dad's alma mater, with Granddad and Mango.
  5. First stay at an indoor water park, maybe that's why he slept so well last night...
  6. First time pooping on mom.  Such a sweet moment...
We're extending the weekend by hanging out at the water park until late afternoon.  I wish we could stay another night, or two!

Favorites!

I thought that after tax season was over things would slow down a little. I was wrong!  We've been running around like crazy over the past two evenings --Josh's basketball game last night, early daycare pickup, doctor's appointment today, grocery shopping, laundry, and another early daycare pickup.  Phew!  Tomorrow evening we are relaxing AND not going to Josh's basketball games!

Michael and I might attempt to work on the yard tomorrow...maybe do a little planting?  He's all about getting dirty, you know.

There are more fun pictures to come! These are a few of my favorites from the weekend.

The doctor's appointment went today well. I met the newest physician in the practice.  I think he might be my favorite primarily because he really seems like he is going to respect my wishes (as much as possible) with the delivery of the next K-H.  I do NOT want to have another C-section, and he really seemed to listen today.  Our baby's heart rate was in the 140-150 range.  He says it sounds strong.   :)

Home again, home again...

This is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend!  I might even frame it because it makes me laugh and laugh.  We had a wonderful time together.  Absolutely wonderful.  We were able to escape from home and really enjoy one another.  Michael is now broken from the "I NEED MY MOM ALL THE TIME" phase, thank goodness!  Michael certainly loves his mama, but he has a very tight bond with his father, as well.  He loses sight of that reality during tax season.  Josh heard, "I love you, Dad" numerous times throughout the weekend; which made all of us very happy.

On the way home this afternoon we discussed baby names!  Ha!  What a joke.  This baby is going to be difficult to name.  I like traditional boy's and girl's names:  Henry, William, Thomas, Anne, Rose, even Edith.  Josh was keeling over in laughter over naming his daughter Edith.  I told him we could call her Eddy.  He then said, why not Esther?  I told him that would be okay. Esther Rose?  Has a nice ring, right?  Michael likes Ramone, for a boy or a girl.  Guess we better buy a name book this time! The baby and I are at 16 weeks today with a Dr's appointment coming up this week...

More pictures tomorrow. I have an awesome photo of  Michael overlooking a river....

"So this is what it feels like to be on ESPN"

Our team, W&M, is playing George Mason RIGHT NOW for a seed in the NCAA tournament.  We have NEVER been in the NCAA tournament before, so this is a
HUGE, HUGE, HUGE game for us Tribe fans!!  HUGE!!  : ) Josh had to get home before seven so that he could watch our team right from the start, which means that he'll be working his tail off late this evening.  It's totally worth it, though.

I'm on the mend.  Thank goodness!  I think it's all the love and comfort food that our families have provided us over the past two days.  Yesterday was really, really rough.  Even today,  I spent most of the day in the bed.  I read a little, ate a little soup,  and then went back to sleep. Michael went to the sitter and had a great day.  He's been a little hard to handle the past two evenings. I'm not sure if it's because of the change in routine, the time change, or a little of both.  Things have been going so smoothly with temper tantrums, that I have been thrown off the past two nights by his behavior.  Tomorrow we should be back on track with our evening routine, so that should help quite a bit.

I'm going to stay home one more day so that I will be totally recovered when I start back on Wednesday.  One more day at home should help a lot.
