CANTANKEROUS. CANTANKEROUS. CANTANKEROUS. CANTANKEROUS:
VOILE!
Guess how our morning is going?!?!?!?
Church was a challenge this morning. Here's a snippet for you:
Prior to receiving communion, I gave Michael a pep talk (if you want to call it that...). He was instructed that he would NOT reach for the host, nor would he be RECEIVING the host. I told him all about going to school one day and how he would eventually be able to receive communion. This seemed to keep him quiet for a few minutes. He also managed to keep his hands to himself during communion.
So, we get back to our seats and Michael begins a little diatribe with himself. Here's what he had to say, "Mommy gets CIRCLE. Mommy gets CIRCLE. Me NOT get circle. Me gets CRAAAACKERS. Mommy NOT get CRAAACKERS. To-day. One day me get CIRCLE. NO CIRCLE today. Mommy gets circle. MAKE GRANDDAD BIRTHDAY. Then, watch Cars movie. Today."
And, after he finished up this little conversation he said to me, "Want to go home NOW, Mom. Want to go home NOW, Mom. Want to go home NOW, Mom!!!!!!"
The funny thing about all of this, was that a family friend caught up with us after church today and asked who's birthday is today! Guess she heard Michael jabbering about, "MAKE GRANDDAD, BIRTHDAY!!!!!" (Really, when he says, "Make Granddad birthday," he really means that we're going to make Granddad a birthday cake. Michael is our "Little Chef.")
We were invited to have breakfast with Michael and Mary Jane this morning, but when we got home I told Josh that Michael would be going straight to bed. (Following a diaper change and a snack.) And, that's just what he did--Michael is now peacefully sleeping. Phew!

Happy, happy, happy birthday to you, Granddad!! We love you so.

Wow! I remember those days! Daniel actually put his hand out once at communion and received bread! After that, there were lots of arguments when he didn't get his "snack." :) Michael is too cute!
