Josh and I just had a "DATE NIGHT!"
Let me read your mind here, for a second...You're probably thinking: Awww! Aren't Katie and Josh the cutest? To go on a date on a Monday night? That's so sweet...
It was a "date night" and a break from the nightly routine. The routine consists of: dinner, set timer for five minutes of playtime, bath, books, kisses, collect all of Michael's stuffed animals, get him ice water, and give him more kisses, more snuggles, and say a quick prayer.
Thankfully, we did get a reprieve from that routine.
However, if you think that we were wining and dining over a hot plate of warm, yummy food; you're mistaken, I'm afraid.
This evening we went to a local forum for candidates running for the board of supervisors and the local school board. We wanted to cheer on Granddad Michael. He did a fantastic job. He was passionate, well-spoken, funny, and just plain FABULOUS. (Wa-HOO, Granddad!)
We're also realizing, however, that we've got a bit of a vested interest in the schools these days. Michael B. will hopefully begin his preschool career with our schools in just two years and will likely go to kindergarten in four years. That means that our vote for our local school board member is ESPECIALLY important this year.
So. I'm glad we went. Like Josh says, we must educate ourselves before we vote on November 6.
