No man can possibly know what life means, what the world means, until he has a child and loves it. And then the whole universe changes and nothing will ever again seem exactly as it seemed before. - Lafcadio Hearn
Happy Father's Day to Josh!
Our intentions were grand for today. Unfortunately, due to this *Awesome* hammock from Nicaragua, our plans were thwarted.
We had a delicious brunch with Michael and Mary Jane this morning. And, after brunch Mary Jane and I talked "paint"--with the color wheels and all; while Michael, Josh, and Michael B tooled around outside.
After our brunch, Michael decided to hang up the hammock. I wasn't real sure how our little guy was going to do with laying on hammock. I could just see Michael going to all this trouble to set it up for our little guy; and then have Michael decide not even to sit on it for a minute. Boy, was I wrong! As it turned out, Michael B loved the hammock! He fell asleep within five minutes of being rocked on the hammock by his Granddad.
In fact, this is where he took his afternoon nap. Yes, for a solid two hours Michael swayed in a beautiful off-white, probably hand-made, hammock; while listening to the soft voices of his Grandparents and chirping birds. Ahhh...Don't you feel relaxed just reading about his nap?
In the meantime, I went into the family room and took a nap on the couch (for a few hours...whoops!) ; while poor Josh was out running a few house errands and meeting with someone about painting.
We enjoyed a nice, quiet family dinner together this evening. In the above picture, Michael is giving Josh a kiss after wishing him a Happy Father's Day. We certainly do think he's a wonderful father. He's such a loving man who absolutely treasures his son.
Happy Father's Day to my wonderful father, my Grandfather, and to my Father in Law...who always, no matter what, seem interested~~
Thank you for being interested. Doesn’t sound like much—but it meant just about everything. - Pam Brown
