Crash and Burn

Up at nine am and back down at ten am; Michael is totally wiped out from this busy week. Bedtime has been later than usual and nap times have been much shorter than usual for our little guy.

What a week it has been! I have enjoyed every minute of being home with Michael and Josh this week. From sleeping in late to traveling to see our relatives, and from walking Michael in his new wagon to meeting Josh for lunch and dinner; we have had a blast. It's a great way to end 2006, being home with Michael and Josh and visiting with our family all week.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were both wonderful. On Christmas Eve, we took Michael to the mountain for a family party. Thankfully, he joined right in the festivities and was very social with the large crowd of family members. After our delicious dinner and gift exchange, we headed home. This Christmas Eve I went to my first midnight mass. I went with Michael and MaryJane to a monastery. It was an incredible experience, very peaceful and quiet. Michael would not have done well at that mass.

Christmas Day was fantastic. We got Michael up, took him downstairs, and surprised him with a Radio Flyer wagon!! He was so excited. There was not one bit of apprehension when he approached the wagon, he can be very timid if he is unsure of a new toy. Josh took him for a few rides around the house in his new wagon. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with Michael and MaryJane (courtesy of MJ, not me!!), and then got all dressed up for Christmas dinner in the country with my mom and dad. The dinner was awesome, as usual, my mom is a great cook. We did our second annual thieves Christmas with my brothers and Patty, but we had a few new members this year...Mom and Dad, Casey and Sean, and BC and Brenda. It was interesting...that's all I'm going to say...

On Wednesday, we went to see my relatives with my mom and dad, and my brothers. We ate very well and Michael enjoyed himself immensely. Again, he was not afraid of the large crowd and eagerly went into the arms of his Great Aunts! My Aunt Audrey took him on a walk through my Grandfather's orchards, which was so much fun for me...I have not been back in the orchards in years! Michael enjoyed himself so much that he did not nap one bit that day. He was so wound up when we got home, Josh began to question what we did to Michael while he was working... ???

And now, it's Saturday! The days just go by too quickly. We're having a wonderful holiday week and we hope that our readers are, too. I should nap while Michael's napping...off I go!
