This is the letter (and word) of the week at daycare. So far Michael has colored in the letter A, painted an apple (with watercolors), and has learned to say the letter A. They also have a shape of the week, which happens to be the almighty circle. His sitter is teaching him and the other children his age how to point to their eyes, ears, nose, hair, and teeth. Michael has his teeth and hair down pat, he just needs to work on the others now.
On the first day of Michael's "school" this week he was given a name tag, as were all of the other children. He also has his own folder, with his name on it, which stores all of his masterpieces. Now I know why parents proudly display half-colored letters and paper plates with tiny bits of paint---they are truly works of art, when completed by your child.
We're all pretty wiped out today. Wednesday seems to be the breaking point of the week. I actually made Michael lay down for a few minutes before dinner because he is so miserably tired. Before that we tried reading books, but he wouldn't let me get far into the book without pitching it. I could use a cat-nap myself. If only dinner would just cook itself, right?
Love to all...
